Palladium Awarded the USAID District Coverage of Health Services Project in Zambia
Palladium is pleased to have been awarded the USAID-funded District Coverage of Health Services Project (USAID DISCOVER-Health), designed to improve the lives of Zambia’s population by ensuring equitable access to and use of high-quality health services and products at the district and community levels. The project will support the efficient and effective control of the HIV epidemic, prevent unplanned pregnancies, and prevent and treat malaria childhood illnesses.
Through implementation of a total market approach and market-based models for targeted delivery of health services and products, USAID DISCOVER-Health will support the Government of Zambia’s stewardship of health market actors and engage NGO and private sector partners to improve access to and utilisation of high-quality services among critical populations. The project will focus on the large majority of Zambians who reside in rural areas, adolescents and children, people with disabilities, and older men and younger women who do not traditionally access public health services.
With a duration of five years, the project will be led by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. in collaboration with Palladium. It will also ensure collaboration and coordination with other USAID-funded partner organisations and implementing partners working in Zambia.
Palladium’s US-based Health Practice Area will provide technical management for the new project. Said Stephen Rahaim, Director for Private Sector Health & Social and Behavior Change,
‘We're very excited about this project. It represents next generation thinking for USAID investments in social marketing and service delivery approaches. With our partner we are really advancing new ways of providing products and services that optimise the way a development partner can perform in the health market.’
With our collective expertise and abiding commitment to exceeding clients’ objectives, Palladium transforms lives, businesses, governments and societies around the world.
