Palladium Welcomes Gayle Smith as USAID Chief
Palladium welcomes Gayle Smith’s confirmation as the new administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In her new role, Ms Smith will oversee all US government backing for international aid and development projects as well as responses to humanitarian crises worldwide. The post has been vacant since the departure of Rajiv Shah in February after five years heading USAID.
Ms Smith comes to her new position with extensive experience both in Washington and on the ground in developing nations. She is a specialist on Africa, having covered African affairs as a journalist for more than 20 years, and she has been an advisor to both the Clinton and Obama administrations.
Palladium and its predecessor firms GRM International and Futures Group have a long history of partnering with USAID to create positive impact across the developing world. We look forward to this next chapter in our relationship.
We congratulate Ms Smith and wish her the best of luck as she assumes leadership of USAID.
