Making the world a better place requires resources, and traditional funding models – such as foreign aid, philanthropy, and CSR – each have their own limitations. Some are too short-term, while others are too narrowly focused. But the need for funding is real, and the capital exists. Palladium mobilises private capital to address social issues while generating a financial return for investors.
Impact investing focuses on both developed and developing economies, each with its unique set of challenges. We aim to bridge the gap between aid and impact investments specific to emerging markets. We facilitate the flow of capital into impact investment opportunities by capitalising on Palladium’s unique visibility across numerous development projects, emerging markets and sectors.
Bamboo Capital Partners is the Asset Management arm of Palladium, representing a portfolio of funds and investee companies that scale financial inclusion and access to clean energy, healthcare, education, and agribusiness.

Women have picked and processed shea nuts into butter for generations in northern Ghana. Usually, these women sell the shea nuts to middlemen and traders, who buy when the price is low and then resell when the price is higher. As a result, the women are consistently cut off from a fair share of the profits for their labour, while global demand for shea products booms.
Palladium invested in Naasakle, a majority female-owned company that manufactures shea butter for the cosmetics industry, bridging the gap between rural female nut pickers in northern Ghana and global shea butter demand. Naasakle sources and processes shea nuts from more than 5,000 women pickers, paying them up to 25% more than middlemen and traders. It also provides technical and financial literacy training, organises savings programmes, and pays for local warehousing facilities. Palladium’s investment will accelerate Naasakle’s growth, while generating a financial return.
